Contactless vested benefits accounts

•    If no valid address can be allocated to a vested benefits account in the second pillar, it will become “contactless” – social security number, surname and date of birth will remain, and continue to be recognised.
•    The Substitute Occupational Benefit Institution (BVG) manages around 950,000 contactless accounts with a total capital of 6 billion Swiss francs.
•    Contactless accounts, with on average CHF 5000, have a considerably lower savings balance than the other vested benefits accounts of the substitute occupational benefit institution.

You can read about this in the latest article on benefits, CHSS, the online publication of the Swiss federal office for social welfare benefits (BSV).
